Or when a stranger’s dog scurries up to you for pets and the owner says, “Wow, he never let’s anyone do this.” That’s how we felt when Eric Yuan, founder and CEO of Zoom, took time out of his whirlwind schedule to be the guest of honor at our online Enterprise CEO Happy Hour! Guests gathered around their laptops and donned their finest sweatpants to hear Eric discuss Zoom’s recent 20x growth spurt and how he and the team are managing the challenges. To kick off the evening, we heard from Mike Schuh, who led Foundation Capital’s investment in Netflix. Mike told us tales of the now fabled Netflix pivot and how Reed Hastings made the most of an economic downturn. If all that wasn’t enough to make this the coolest CEO virtual happy hour you’ve ever heard of, we were also lucky enough to hear from Stacey Epstein, Chief Marketing & Customer Experience Officer at ServiceMax. Stacey shared advice on how to adapt your go-to-market strategy to the current uncertain environment. While this cyber hangout was no replacement for the real deal, it was still wonderful to see so many familiar faces. We’re looking forward to the next actual dinner in the series, when we’ll once again gather in the real world to share a meal and, hopefully, a handshake.
