Kumar Vora, Entrepreneur-in-Residence

Kumar Vora joined Foundation Capital as an EIR in November 2012. Kumar has been working in the Silicon Valley for last 25 years in various companies small and large.

Most recently, Kumar was with Oracle where he ran the WebCenter business. As Senior VP and GM of that business, Kumar was responsible for all aspects of the product line from product vision and strategy to software delivery to driving the business outcomes around customer adoption, revenue and profitability. Oracle WebCenter, a multi-hundred million dollar product portfolio, included all of Oracle’s portal, content, collaboration and social products.

Prior to joining Oracle, Kumar was at Adobe, where he helped drive the LiveCycle product family from inception to a profitable, high growth enterprise software business. During the nine years at Adobe, he held various positions in the Adobe LiveCycle group. Most recently, he was the vice president and general manager of the Adobe LiveCycle business.

Prior to Adobe, Kumar was the VP of Technology and co-founder at Oblix, an eBusiness security infrastructure company. Kumar oversaw all aspects of product development for Oblix’s multi-platform, enterprise-class Identity Management solutions. Oblix was purchased by Oracle in 2005. Prior to Oblix, Kumar held software engineering and management positions at Apple, HP and SGI on a variety of networking and Internet-based products.

Kumar holds a Bachelor’s degree in computer science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, and a Master’s degree in computer science from the University of Wisconsin. Kumar loves to hike and travel to places of natural beauty in his spare time. Urban vacations are not vacations in Kumar’s books. Kumar’s friends also know him as a foodie willing to try all sorts of cuisines. Kumar lives in San Jose with his wife and two wonderful dogs after becoming an empty nester recently.
