Dimitri Dadiomov, Entrepreneur-in-Residence
Dimitri Dadiomov joined Foundation as an EIR in September 2011, bringing expertise in clean energy and clean transportation.
Dimitri was previously with Better Place, a company focused on accelerating the mass adoption of electric vehicles. Dimitri worked on the original white paper and business plan prior to the company’s launch in 2007 and became one of the first employees, helping grow the company internationally and forging alliances with major industry partners. Since its founding Better Place has raised over $700 million and launched operations in Israel, Denmark, Australia, Japan, and the US.
Prior to Better Place, Dimitri was with Intellectual Ventures, where he was involved in the spinout of TerraPower, a company focused on commercializing the Traveling Wave Reactor. TWR technology holds the promise of carbon-free, proliferation resistant energy. The company is the first spinout formed to focus on commercializing an invention from Intellectual Ventures and is funded by Bill Gates.
Dimitri earned a B.S. in Energy Science and Technology and a B.A. in Economics from Stanford University, and is on leave from the master’s program in Earth Systems at Stanford. While in school, he completed an honors thesis on geologic carbon storage, served as Co-President of the Business Association of Stanford Entrepreneurial Students (BASES), and was on the Stanford Ski Team.
