Congrats, CloudOn.

Tonight Dropbox announced its acquisition of Foundation Capital portfolio company, CloudOn.

I want to congratulate Milind Gadekar, Jay Zaveri and the US and Israeli based teams on this tremendous outcome. Five years ago, Milind walked in to my office with a firm belief that mobile would reshape enterprise software, starting with the ultimate prize, the Office suite. With a mix of vision, tenacity and good luck (he’s good but could have never seen the iPad coming), Milind and team built and launched the fastest growing mobile productivity application in history and dominated the free apps charts. Taking CloudOn to the next level requires big muscle and DropBox brings just that to the table with greater than 100M users of its cloud storage offering and an appetite to layer applications on top of the storage.

I’m excited the CloudOn team can continue upon its quest and am thrilled they will do it within such a great company as Dropbox.
